Quotes of the Day

Our fearless section 8 yearbook rep as he walked out of the room after Allen told him to give plasma to earn money to pay for his yearbook:
"I use seamen!"
-that should have cleared a path down the hallway for him.

Doctor house commenting on Sirian trying to get a slideshow working on his computerwith the screen only up a couple inches out of the desk:
"To be effective you gotta get it up."
-That's what she said (ala Michael Scott)

Then about 5 minutes later:
"Allright, what'd ya gotta do to get it up?"

"One thing- if you can flip me over." Allen

An exciting business opportunity I just received!

I just got this email--I think it looks like a pretty good deal!

REQUEST FOR URGENT CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP

From: Minister of the Treasury Paulson

Subject: REQUEST FOR URGENT CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP

Dear American:

I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship
with a transfer of funds of great magnitude.

I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country
has had crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds of
800 billion dollars US. If you would assist me in this transfer, it
would be most profitable to you.

I am working with Mr. Phil Gramm, lobbyist for UBS, who will be my
replacement as Ministry of the Treasury in January. As a Senator, you
may know him as the leader of the American banking deregulation
movement in the 1990s. This transaction is 100% safe.

This is a matter of great urgency. We need a blank check. We need
the funds as quickly as possible. We cannot directly transfer these
funds in the names of our close friends because we are constantly
under surveillance. My family lawyer advised me that I should look for
a reliable and trustworthy person who will act as a next of kin so the
funds can be transferred.

Please reply with all of your bank account, IRA and college fund
account numbers and those of your children and grandchildren to
wallstreetbailout@treasury.gov so that we may transfer your commission
for this transaction. After I receive that information, I will
respond with detailed information about safeguards that will be used
to protect the funds.

Yours Faithfully
Minister of Treasury Paulson

History of the Enlightenment 101

For our history class, you might want to read this updated history of the Enlightenment written in today's vernacular. Rather pithy, I do say so myself.

What did you think of the Wellness Panel on Thursday?

Any speaker or panel that does not allow a whole lot of audience participation will put the audience to sleep.

If you're ever looking for information about the Air Force, here's a great link:

Air Force Aim Points

Aim Points is the daily summary of news stories that affect the Air Force, the military at large, and the United States as a whole. It also has a sidebar highlighting a topic of particular concern that changes every day. Finally, at the bottom of the page is a series of links that contain even more information about the Air Force, including a link to the monthly talking points for Air Force communicators.

Enjoy responsibly.

Linkage

In my first post to the 8C blog, I wanted to give out some links that are news worthy and relavant for our profession.

All because I hate the Main Stream Media (MSM) machine, I always prefere independent news sources. There are several that come to mind and each has a different level of insight. There are the military independent blogs like Michael Yon, Michael Totten, and Bill Roggio. They are freelance journalist that put their butts on the line to get the ground truth, and I admire them for it.

I also check out the bigger blogs, the collaborative, not-quite-MSM, but full of useful information and insight, often from service men and women in the field. Three of the big ones that I like are Counterterrorism blog, SmallWarsJournel blog and the Danger Room.

Hope you enjoy the links and see you in class. Gotta go, I have some reading to do.
