Quote of the Day

On the theme of globalization:

"Printing made us all readers.
Xeroxing made us all publishers.
Television made us all viewers.
Digitization made us all broadcasters."

-Lawrence Grossman, former NBC News President

Linkage

In my first post to the 8C blog, I wanted to give out some links that are news worthy and relavant for our profession.

All because I hate the Main Stream Media (MSM) machine, I always prefere independent news sources. There are several that come to mind and each has a different level of insight. There are the military independent blogs like Michael Yon, Michael Totten, and Bill Roggio. They are freelance journalist that put their butts on the line to get the ground truth, and I admire them for it.

I also check out the bigger blogs, the collaborative, not-quite-MSM, but full of useful information and insight, often from service men and women in the field. Three of the big ones that I like are Counterterrorism blog, SmallWarsJournel blog and the Danger Room.

Hope you enjoy the links and see you in class. Gotta go, I have some reading to do.

A Dose of Humility

Check out this video that Reggie showed a couple of us today:

You'll have to look at it from home since we're not trusted to look at YouTube from the Intellectual Center of the Army.

Check that, click here to view the video:
